Located in a high growth region of north Queensland and central to the region’s mining, this business is recognised as an accredited and high quality provider of bulk transport across a range of applications. Operating for more than 12 years, which includes four years within its current company structure, the success and growth of this business is attributable to its specialised vehicle inventory, commitment to customer service, safety, professionalism and reliability.
The business, its assets, a sand mining lease and freehold property is offered for sale as a total package and presents as a rare and unique opportunity for an investor, large national company, or consortium wishing to invest into an established business offering a secure and high return on their investment. This business could be run under management or could be purchased to complement an existing operation of a similar nature. The current staffing structure and management systems in place will allow prospective investors/purchasers to take over this established business smoothly and further capitalise their investment, based on secure contracts and customer base.
The whole investment comprises 4 principal components:
Bulk Haulage – This is the primary focus of the business, which only caters for large commercial clients from the mining and construction industries, farming and government. Most of the haulage is done by way of formal supply agreements with long-established clients. The business was recently awarded a very large government contract to haul 300,000+ tonnes of road base to repair app. 360km of road in the region over the next 36 months, along with other substantial contract work recently awarded and others currently under negotiation, in addition to its current standing work orders. The current fleet of trucks and equipment is sufficient to service this newly acquired supply agreement together with all other existing work thereby maximising the profit to be earned by the business. The owner is constantly increasing the vehicle fleet to enable new work to be carried out as and when required. Estimated Net profit earnings of approximately $13,500,000 are expected for the 2011/2012 financial year.
Plant and Equipment – With over 42 prime movers, many of which are less than 3 years old, 87 trailers (many new, some purpose built, others form road trains) and 4 Large Bucket loaders, the inventory offers huge scope to many of the large local industries for the movement of product. Current value of plant and equipment is approximately $13,000,000.
Sand Extraction Lease – The lease is through the Department of Natural Resources for the extraction of 100,000m3 over 5 years (30,000 tonne per annum) of coarse river sand generally used for concrete in the construction industry. The sand is screened and can typically be sold at $35 per tonne. Little to nothing is currently being sold from this lease as the seller has focused on other parts of the business.
Freehold - A 32,390m2 commercial zoned property with offices and 7 Bay workshop for vehicle maintenance and storage and other heavy machinery applications. This property also lends itself to additional income opportunities through further development such as industrial and storage sheds, outside vehicle storage, commercial warehouses, etc.
